Student leadership

Student Leadership positions are held in high regard by the principal, staff, parents and community at Everton Park State School. Student Leaders are representative of the Everton Park State School values. They are key participants in both the modelling of standards for their peers and younger students as well as the proactive development of activities that represent the school community.
Across the Primary School years students are involved in a range of leadership opportunities embedded within the school curriculum and annual events. These may involve public speaking, representing the school, team work, coaching other students, involvement in community activities as well as working towards their potential in class. Student leaders are active participants in Everton Park State School events, assemblies and within the community.
In the final years of Primary School students participate in a School Leader Accreditation process aimed at encouraging students to reflect on their leadership skills and further develop these with the aim of receiving a Senior Leader Badge in their final year of Primary School.

Student Leadership Opportunities

The role involves leadership, mentoring and the maintenance of an achievable standard to which other students can aspire to. Duties include representing the school at community events, greeting visitors to the school, mentoring junior students and fellow captains as well as organising and supporting school events.

Student Council

The Student Council work in conjunction with the School Captains on a committee representative of the student body. This committee operates to represent student views and to supportively raise awareness of issues within the school. The forum is a communication tool between students and staff. During the year the Student Council organise fundraising events for the students as well as promoting important school messages.
